Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest academic institution in Greece and one of the largest in South-eastern Europe covering all disciplines and scientific fields. AUTH, which consists of 11 Faculties, 41 Schools and 311 Laboratories, has an academic activity that spans from science and arts, to humanities and divinity, medicine and technology. Most of its academic personnel have been trained in reputable Universities in Europe, the United States and as far afield as Australia and Japan. AUTH is known as the most interdisciplinary university of the country with a wide range of offered services in basic and applied research, as well as in research on humanities and social sciences.

The strategic objectives of AUTH, in the framework of its vision and mission, remain high and consistently oriented to the continuation of its tradition, namely, to be a pioneer institution, standing out among Greek and many foreign Universities on all levels: education, research, culture and connection with society. Research Unit ‘INNEN Innovative Environments’ is a research cluster conducting research projects and research-related academic and professional activities. It is responding to research, academic and educational needs for innovative approaches on architectural design, urban design, landscape design, environmental design and the design of experimental spatial arrangements in a broad array of scales.
