Located in the heart of Ile de Nantes creative quarter in a building designed by Lacaton & Vassal (Pritzker Architecture Price 2021), the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Nantes (ensa nantes) is a public institution dedicated to higher education and research under the joint authority of the Minister of Culture and the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation. Thanks to its firm roots in the area, it is continually able to broaden its activities at national and international level. The Nantes School of Architecture has a policy of expanding international relations. It has partnerships with 85 institutions across 33 countries.
Research: LABORATORY AAU-CRENAU(Centre de Recherche Nantais Architectures Urbanités)
Here researchers explore methodological and digital approaches to the built environment and socioethnographic approaches to the way urban areas are made. Many research themes are covered, including climate formation, the resilience of regions, adapting cities to climate and energy changes, digital design (immersive devices, virtual / augmented reality /analysis of built forms).
